Come follow me: Responding to the call of Jesus is a parish-based initiative for the children who have enrolled as candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Currently, the children attend special Masses, and afterwards Sessions from October to March.
The new Initiative requires parents to be involved in leading the sessions. Parents receive prior training from the Parish Sacramental Coordinator.
The Initiative provides a space outside of school for the boys and girls to take ownership of their preparation for Confirmation. It explores our understanding of our Baptism, Confirmation as a Life to lead, The Story of Salvation, Reconciliation, and Eucharist. During visits to the 6th Classes the Sacramental coordinator will discuss Gifts and Talents, and how we can use them in the service of the Lord, Yes /No to Confirmation, Choosing a Sponsor. Candidates will be asked to do a Service Project; At Home, In School, In our Parishes and it provides an opportunity for the candidates for Confirmation to serve the wider community, with a Social Justice Project.
